How to Stipple With Markers

    • 1). Draw a simple sketch of your piece using a pencil. When drawing a stippled piece, it is a good idea to draw similar to a paint-by-numbers drawing, where there are large sections that each color will fill in. You can lightly write the colors that are to be used in each section to help you later on.

    • 2). Uncap your first color and use it to fill the appropriate area completely with small dots. If you want the area to be dark, dot the area densely with the tip of your marker.

    • 3). Continue using the tip of your marker to fill each colored segment with small, fine dots.

    • 4). Combine dots of various colors to create a two-toned effect in certain areas if desired.

    • 5). Allow the marker to dry on the page and then use an eraser to remove the guide lines from the drawing. Sign and date your work.
