Preparation

• 1). Close out any open applications or programs.
  
  
• 2). Disable any anti-virus software that may be running to avoid getting a false virus report.
  
  
• 3). Access the administrator account on the computer.
  
  

Installation

• 1). Place the installation disc into the CD-ROM drive.
  
  
• 2). Enter the requested information, such as name, address and serial number, when the installation process starts up.
  
  
• 3). Select the installation directory, the location in the computer's hard drive where the program will be stored, or select default to install the program at the location "C:\Program Files\Nuance\NaturallySpeakingx," with x representing the version number.
  
  
• 4). Click on "Typical/Complete" for default installation, or select "Custom" to choose specific parts of the program to install.
  
  
• 5). Select the "QuickStart" option if you would like the program to start when the computer turns on and an icon in the Windows task bar.
  
  
• 6). Complete any on-screen instructions the installer gives; the files will then install on the computer.
  
  
• 7). Enter pertinent information when requested to register your copy of the program.
  
  
• 8). Check the box that says, "Check the Internet for program updates after setup completes."
  
  
• 9). Click on "Finish" to complete the installation.

  Reboot your computer when prompted.
