Tips for "Assassin's Creed 2"
- Earn easy coins by tackling a messenger or pickpocket who runs by you. Once you assemble some coins, you can use these to help you make a getaway after an assassination. Just toss a few on the ground as you make your escape to rouse the masses, who will scramble for the coins and block the guards.
- You gain notoriety by committing criminal acts. In addition to assassinations, crimes such as stealing from citizens and attacking guards will increase your notoriety. This makes guards pursue you with more fervor. Three methods will decrease this meter. Remove your wanted posters around town (but not in the witness of a guard), bribe public heralds to speak on other subjects, and kill guards or officials who witness your crimes. Each method is more powerful and useful than the next, as removing posters reduces the meter by 25 percent, bribing heralds reduces it by 50 percent, and killing officials reduces it by 75 percent.
- Brutes are the toughest foes you will face in the game. The best method to take them down is to use your hidden blade. The Brutes carry weapons with a long reach, so counter their attacks with weapons stolen from other Brutes. Or, you can also use throwing knives to attack them from afar. Move in close to finish them with your hidden blade after weakening them.
- Collect armor to give you additional health. If your armor is hit repeatedly in battle, it will weaken and eventually break. When this happens, you should head to the nearest blacksmith to repair the armor. Even if you visit a doctor to be healed, your health will not return to its full capacity until the armor is repaired.
