How to Replace a Sawzall Trigger Switch
- 1). Lay the Sawzall flat on it's left side with the screw holes in the red handle assembly facing up. Turn each screw counterclockwise with a Phillips screwdriver until they can be removed from the handle assembly. Lift the right half of the handle assembly off the left handle assembly and motor housing.
- 2). Turn the screw holding the switch and trigger assembly to the left handle assembly counterclockwise until it can be removed from the handle. Pull the switch and trigger assembly off the left handle assembly. Disconnect the wire from the switch and trigger assembly by pulling the blade connector off the blade terminal on the back of the switch assembly. Remove the dust shield from the switch and trigger assembly.
- 3). Place the dust shield on the new switch and trigger assembly. Connect the wire to the back of the switch by sliding the blade connector onto the blade terminal. Place the switch and trigger assembly on the left handle assembly. Insert the mounting screw into the mounting hole and turn the screw clockwise until it is tight.
- 4). Place the right handle assembly on the left handle assembly and motor housing. Insert the screws into the screw holes and turn them clockwise until they are tight. Test the trigger for proper operation at various speeds.
- 5). Check all connections if the Sawzall fails to operate correctly.
