2010 Pro Wrestling Year in Review



2010 was a year of upheaval in the wrestling business. WWE saw several top stars retire and filled the void they left with a bunch of rookies from their latest program, WWE NXT. TNA began the year with the returns of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff to the wrestling business. Unlike the rookie route the WWE took, Bischoff and Hogan tried to recreate the Monday Night War and brought back updated versions of both the nWo and ECW.

10 Biggest Stories of the Year
A youth movement, new leadership in TNA, a US Senate election, and a volcano eruption were some of the biggest stories of the year.

Michael Cole spent 2010 telling fans "...And I Quote". Hopefully in 2011 we will find out who he is quoting.

Eight of the questions were fully answered, one answer has been kept confidential, and we will have to wait until 2011 to find out the answer to the final one.

2010 PPV Results and Recaps
The rebranding of WWE PPV events that started last year continued in 2010 with the additions of Money in the Bank and Over the Limit.

2010 Title Changes
WWE got rid of two title lineages that combined held over 90 years of history. The Unified Tag Team Championship now is known as the WWE Tag Team Championship and the history of that title dates back to only 2002. The Divas Championship gobbled up the 60 years history of the Women's Championship which pre-dated the formation of World Wrestling Entertainment.

The WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010
