How to Create a Colony on "Civilization IV"
- 1). Acquire two or more cities on a different continent from the one that contains your capital city. Any land mass completely surrounded by water is considered a separate continent, regardless of the actual size. You can acquire new cities by selecting the "Build City" order for a settler, conquering enemy cities or being gifted a city by another civilization.
- 2). Click on one of the cities you want to turn into a colony. It does not matter which of the cities you choose.
- 3). Press the "F1" key to open the Domestic Advisor window.
- 4). Press the red fist icon in the bottom right corner.
- 5). Confirm you want to create a colony when prompted. All of the cities on that landmass are converted into a single colony from that point onwards.
