Dragon Party Ideas
- Whether you are planning a dragon-themed party because you have a little one who likes the TV show "Dragon Tales," or you are going for more of a medieval dragon theme, there are a few ideas that are universal. From games to play and goodies to eat it, it's always good to have a few dragon party ideas to start your planning. Once you have a few ideas, you can get started planning and they may even further spark your creativity.
- Pin the tail on the donkey is a classic party game that kids always enjoy. Pin the tail on the dragon is played identically, but chances are good you will need to make your own game board. Make a dragon out of poster board or have a picture of a dragon blown up. Cut dragon tails out of poster board and put tape in a loop on each one. On each kid's turn they are blindfolded and spun once before they get to take a shot at pinning the tail on the dragon.
- Dragons and knights seem to go hand in hand in most TV shows and movies. Make all your party guests a knight and give them a fake sword and shield. You can make swords and shields out of cardboard or poster board. To make them look like they are made of metal, cover them with tinfoil. When your guests arrive at the party give them a knight's name, which would be their name with Sir or Madame in front of it.
- Making your own dragon birthday cake is not as difficult as you might think. Look for a dragon cake pan at a party shop, craft supply store or online. Use that dragon shaped cake pan to bake your cake. When it comes time to decorate the cake, make your icing green with a few drops of green food coloring. You can also decorate the cake with candy for the eyes, nose and claws. Use a picture of a dragon as a visual guide when decorating.
