Instructions for a Hoover SteamVac F5857-900
- 1). Turn off and unplug the Hoover SteamVac. Raise the carpet cleaner handle and push down on the water tank handle. Pull forward to remove it from the machine. Turn the lid counterclockwise to open and turn the lid over. Use the built-in measuring cup to measure Hoover cleaning formula and pour the solution into the tank. Fill the rest of the tank with clean, hot water. Close and tighten the lid clockwise.
- 2). Set the tank back into the SteamVac and push down on the handle until it clicks into place.
- 3). Plug the SteamVac into a power supply and move the speed selector to the desired setting. Choose "LO" for delicate surfaces or rugs and "HI" for normal floors or carpets. Step on the foot pedal to lower the handle and turn the power switch to "ON."
- 4). Squeeze the trigger to spray the cleaning formula and continue to squeeze the trigger while pushing the SteamVac in a slow stroke forward and back. Let go of the trigger and repeat the stroke over the same area.
- 5). Repeat Step 4 over the area to be cleaned, creating overlapping sections to help prevent streaks in the carpet.
- 6). Turn off and unplug the SteamVac when finished. Lower the device handle and push down on the tank handle to pull the tank out. Empty the dirty water and rinse the tank well with clean water. Remove the clear cover on the front of the unit and wipe the carpet indicator screen with a clean, damp cloth. Close the cover. Store the SteamVac in a cool, dry place.
