How to Get Rid of W32.Alcra.B

    • 1). Click the "Start" button, right-click "My Computer" and click "Properties" to launch the "System Properties" dialog box.

    • 2). Click the "System Restore" tab. Click the "Turn off System Restore on all Drives" check box, then click "Apply," then "Yes," and "OK" to save your changes.

    • 3). Launch your antivirus program. Select the updating option or update tool and install the latest virus definitions. Refer to your program's manual if you are unsure how to install the latest updates.

    • 4). Run a full system scan after installing the updates and delete any detected parasites.

    • 5). Click the "Start" button and click "Run." Type "regedit" (without quotes) in the open box and press "Enter" to launch the Windows Registry.

    • 6). Click the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder in the left pane, click the "SOFTWARE" folder, the "Microsoft" folder, the "Windows" folder, the "CurrentVersion" folder and the "Run" folder.

    • 7). Right-click the "winupdates" = "%ProgramFiles%\winupdates\winupdates.exe /auto" entry in the right pane and click "Delete."

    • 8). Click the "File" menu and click "Exit" to close the Windows Registry.

    • 9). Go back to the System Properties dialog box and re-enable System Restore.
