How to Change Your NAT Type on the Xbox 360
- 1). Turn on your computer and open your Web browser. You do not change the NAT type on your Xbox 360 via the console itself, but through the settings on your computer's router.
- 2). Type your router IP address into your browser. This IP address is different depending on the type of router you own. For example, Netgear routers use the 192.168.0.1 IP address while Linksys routers use the 192.168.1.1 IP address.
- 3). Log into your router using your user name and password. This identification information was specified by you when the router was originally configured.
- 4). Select the "Administration" option in the page for your wireless router. From this window, select the "Enable UPnP" option. On Linksys routers this box is just labeled "UPnP."
- 5). Select "Save." This will change your Xbox 360's NAT type from "Strict" to "Open," allowing you to play all online games without issue.
