Heads-Up: Drive Safely

Stay safe on the road by being alert, improving your driving skills, and keeping your auto headlights in check at all times. You share the road with reckless drivers, so stay ahead of the game by keeping yourself and your car safe always.

No matter how impervious celebrities are to bad hair days and goofy wardrobes, they are not invulnerable to accidents. It's not uncommon to hear in the news that a famous celebrity got involved in a fatal accident, perhaps because of dangerous road condition or human error. Who can forget the fender benders pop singer Britney Spears got involved in? Or the major carnage Nick Hogan endured last year? It seems that for celebrities, driving is much difficult with a designer sunglass on their head and a $3000 handbag at their side.

But a designer handbag or not, driving can be really hazardous if the driver itself is the problem. As dumb as it may seem, there are actually people who think driving is just a walk in the park. It doesn't matter if they bump into other motorists. They can always buy a new car. But, can they buy a new life? Not really.

Unfortunately, you can't prevent dim-witted individuals from taking our roadways. Let's face it. There's no way to stop these drivers from proliferating the road. But, as a cautious and responsible driver, there are ways you can do to stay safe on the road.

Check your driving skills

If you are not used to taking long drives, let someone else drive for you. Keep in mind that fatigue is the number one cause of accidents on the road. If you stress yourself too much, your driving ability can be affected and result in driving impairment.

Likewise, if you don't trust yourself driving on dark roads, then stay off the road at night. Carpool with your friends and you'll be assured to get to your destination safely.

Stay alert

Keep those eyes moving. Take note of everything that's going around you. Check on your car mirrors every 6 seconds to see the traffic behind and beside you. When approaching intersections and stop signs, turn your head left and right before proceeding.

Do a safety check before pulling off the garage

Before you speed off, make sure to adjust your auto headlights. Turn them on before leaving and see if they are aligned properly. Check also for its brightness. The bulbs should be bright white and not yellow. If you think the bulbs are starting to fade, replace them at once. It's best to replace both bulbs even if only one bulb is faulty.

Replacement headlights are readily available in the market today. If you get a replacement at once, you'll stay safe on the road and even save yourself a traffic ticket. Don't worry with your budget. Aftermarket headlights will surely replace your faulty headlights without compromising the functionality of your headlight assembly.

Most importantly...

Try to practice defensive driving at all times. If you find yourself next to these reckless drivers on the road, don't challenge them. Be the cautious driver that you are-and don't even think of getting into a car race with the celebrities. They may be famous and rich, but when it comes to driving, they are not the wittiest drivers out there.
