How to Examine Driveline and CV Boots in a Acura Integra

    • 1). Raise your Acura Integra on a hydraulic lift. While you can slide under your car and perform the inspection on your back, it'll be much easier to see on the lift. Simply go to your local service station.

    • 2). Locate the driveline and CV boots on your Acura Integra. The CV boots cover the CV joint, which connects to your wheel well. The boot holds lubrication, which keeps the hardware greased for ease of turning. Therefore, look to your wheel wells (on all four tires) and you'll notice the boot.

    • 3). Look for any dry rot or cracking in the CV boots. When the rubber becomes brittle, it will crack quite easily.

    • 4). Touch the CV boot to see if there is any leaking lubricant. This is a sign that the boot needs to be replaced.

    • 5). Repeat this action on the other three CV boots to complete your examination.
