How Do I Stain Over West System Penetrating Epoxy?

    • 1). Load the roller with epoxy. Press out the excess by pressing the roller against the ramp part of the rolling pan.

    • 2). Roll over the wood surface to apply the first coat of epoxy. Apply the epoxy over 2-foot-by-2-foot sections to assure even application. Finish the first coat with long, even strokes. Drag a foam brush across the surface to remove any excess coating.

    • 3). Apply second and third coats the same day. Remove excess epoxy from each coat by brushing in the opposite direction of the prior coat. Allow the epoxy to dry completely.

    • 4). Sand away any drips with 80-grit sandpaper. Finish the surface with 220-400 grit sandpaper. Rinse with fresh water and dry the surface with paper towels.

    • 5). Apply your preferred stain in long, even strokes.
