How to Clean a Toys "R" Us Stuffed Dog
- 1). Place the stuffed dog in a pillowcase. Pin the pillowcase shut with a few safety pins.
- 2). Start the washing machine on a gentle cycle. Use warm water for a light-colored or very dirty stuffed dog, and cold water for delicate or brightly-colored fabric. Put the pillowcase in the wash.
- 3). Add fabric softener to the washing machine during the final cycle. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the specific amount of softener.
- 4). Remove the pillowcase from the washer, take out the pins, and place the stuffed dog in the dryer. Dry the stuffed dog on a low heat setting, checking it every 30 minutes until it's dry.
- 1). Sprinkle baking soda all over the stuffed dog and let it sit for 15 minutes. The baking soda will absorb odors to keep the stuffed dog smelling fresh.
- 2). Vacuum the stuffed dog to remove any dirt, dust and baking soda. Use the brush attachment to get down into the fibers.
- 3). Apply a drop or two of laundry detergent to a damp sponge. Wipe any stains or dirty spots from the stuffed dog. Use a clean, wet sponge to remove any soap residue.
- 4). Set the stuffed dog outside in the sun for a few hours. This will help freshen it up.
