Superman Returns: Top Movie Review

Superman Returns Although Superman Returns is the sequel of the famous Superman series of films, all of them being top rated movies, yet it ignores the two previous Superman series films and does not acknowledge the continuity of events from Superman III (released in 1983) and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (released in 1987).
In fact it tries to bring the story forward from the first two superman films of 1978 and 1980.
The makers, in order to cover the long gap in the series, have rightfully made Superman (Brandon Routh) travel to his native planet Krypton in search for his long lost fellow Kryptonians.
Meanwhile, the ever smart, tricky and master schemer, Lex Luthor ( Kevin Spacey) is shown being released from prison and getting married to a rich widow.
Superman, on returning to earth again joins the Daily Planet as Clark Kent and learns from his colleagues that during his absence, Lois Lane, his long lost lady love on earth, wrote an article "Why the World Doesn't Need Superman", which won her the Pulitzer Prize.
Lex Luthor is successful in stealing the Kryptonite from the Fortress of Solitude.
His experiment with them causes electric pulse disturbance and disrupts the test flight of a space shuttle, mounted on a plane on which Lois Lane is also travelling to cover the story.
The crash is averted by Superman, who lands the plane in a baseball stadium and the world comes to know of his return.
Lex Luthor has plans to create a landmass for his empire in the Atlantic Ocean.
He succeeds in stealing the Kryptonian crystals from the Museum.
He starts building up his landmass with the help of the Kryptonian crystals and the Kryptonite.
Accidentally, Lois and her son Jason fall into the hands of Lex, who imprisons them on his ship, while he is on his way to the new landmass.
When Superman discovers that the secret behind the landmass is Kryptonite, his powers begin to weaken.
Lois comes back and helps Superman to regain his lost strength.
Superman is finally successful in destroying the landmass and saving the Metropolis and its residents from another danger.
Lois acknowledges that Superman is the father of Jason and starts writing another article, but this time it is "Why the World Needs Superman".
A Superb winner by Bryan Singer, maker of many top rated movies, Warner Bros surely wiped out the shallowness of their last two failures in the Superman series.
Brandon Routh has the boy-next-door chocolate charm when he is Clark Kent and with equal ease switches on his steely side when taking on the mettle of Superman.
Kate Bosworth, star of many top 10 movies, gives a very polished performance and shows the restraint required of her while acting as the mother of a child and a dedicated wife.
Kevin Spacey is taking Lex Luthor to new heights of treachery and deceit.
Bryan Singer has given the modern audience of cinema a worthy superhero.
His movie has everything in the right proportion: action, romance and sleekness.
Like James Bond would say - Shaken not stirred.
After seeing Superman Returns, one of the top movies of this year, that's how the fans of this superhero are going to feel.
