How to Make Quick and Easy Pancake and Waffle Syrup

    • 1). Combine the brown sugar and water listed in the recipe in a medium size saucepan. Place it on the stovetop on low heat.

    • 2). Stir the sugar and water until the sugar dissolves completely. Add the butter and mix it in until it melts.

    • 3). Continue heating the syrup mixture until it begins to simmer. Stir it frequently to prevent the syrup from burning.

    • 4). Simmer the syrup for three to five minutes depending on how thick you like your pancake and waffle syrup.

    • 5). Remove the pot of syrup from the stove and let it cool. As the syrup cools it will continue to thicken. If your syrup is too thin you can always stir in more brown sugar to and put it back on the stove for a couple minutes.

    • 6). Add maple flavoring to make a simple version of maple syrup. You can also try different flavorings or add berries to this simple syrup recipe to make a variety of different pancake and waffle syrups.

    • 7). Pour the remaining pancake and waffle syrup into a glass jar or old syrup container and store it in the refrigerator. This syrup recipe makes about 1 ½ cups of simple sugar syrup.
