Door Holder Installation
- 1). Use the tape measure to measure the distance from the wall to the pivot center line. The pivot center line is the halfway point of the door's full travel path. Refer to the enclosed chart to place the magnetic box location based on your measurements.

Calculate your door's "Dim C" using the chart methods explained. The "Dim C" is actually the distance from the magnetic box center line to the pivot center line. If the "Dim C" calculation is within the parameters listed on the table, allow for the suggested difference correction. - 3). Do not install the door if your "Dim B" (dimension B) and "Dim C" (dimension C) intersect the shaded area of the diagram example. If the opening is not sufficient to align the armature (the moving or rotating part of the door holder) and the wall magnet correctly, and the holder can not work as it should. Use the alternate mounting location 5 inches above the top of the door. Check the width of door opening and the installation charts for top mounting to see if that method is possible. If your door opening does fall within the parameters, proceed to the next steps.

If door hardware protrudes farther than allowed, when it is in contact with the holder, it will still be slightly opened.door knob image by rafalwit from Fotolia.com
Look at how far the door hardware protrudes from the door surface. Keep this distance to no farther than 4 1/8 inches. Locate and mark on the wall the Dim C position with a vertical mark at the calculation you already completed from the corner of the wall. Refer to the wiring diagram to complete the wiring using the wire strippers and pliers before mounting the magnetic box. - 5). Mount the outlet box on the wall so that the outlet box centerline lines up with the vertical line you drew on the wall. Mount the outlet box directly into a wall stud and make the fastening sufficiently strong to handle a minimum 50-pound pull constantly.

The armature dictates the door's opening span.armatures d'??ventails en bambou image by Unclesam from Fotolia.com
Install the outlet box high enough so the door armature can be installed at the same height and not interfere with the functioning of the other door hardware. Refer to the Electrical Data Sheet that came with the kit for these wiring diagrams. - 7). Align the door armature surface with the magnet surface that has two holes in the base either vertically or horizontally. Close the door slowly and carefully to adjust the angle of the door armature so the magnet lies flat on the door.

Retain slight pressure and mark this location on the door. The armature should be 2 5/8 inches from the door's lock edge. Drill the mounting holes and mount the armature.
