How to Put God in Your Graduation Speech

    • 1). Decide why you want to include God in your graduation speech. Saying "God bless you" toward the end of the speech is a good way to address the students without showing religious persuasion. For example, Oprah Winfrey used these words to conclude her speech to the Wellesley College graduates of 2007, and they were not viewed as words of support and encouragement, rather than persuasion.

    • 2). Go over your speech to ensure that you do not use God as a dominant theme in your speech, but rather as a reference to personal faith.

    • 3). Have the school board, a principal or a teacher review your speech before you deliver it to students. This ensures that you have an objective set of eyes look at the speech to see that your incorporation of God in the speech is encouraging.
