Statute of Limitations for a Collection of Judgment in Arizona

    Domestic Judgment

    • A domestic judgment is one that was entered by a court within the state of Arizona. A domestic judgment is good for five years and can be extended for an additional five years. There is no limit to the number of five-year extensions that can be obtained.

    Foreign Judgments

    • A foreign judgment is one that was entered by a court outside of the state of Arizona. The statute of limitations on collecting on a foreign judgment is four years. Foreign judgments are not extendable.

    Interest

    • The statutory interest rate on an Arizona judgment is 10 percent. The judgment interest rate can also vary according to the terms of the contractual agreement.
