How to File Small Claims in Arkansas

1). Go to the district court in the county where the defendant resides, works or where the breach of contract or inciting incident took place.
2). Complete the complaint form. The complaint details the complete contact information for the parties involved, the amount you are owed and the circumstances surrounding the lawsuit. The court clerk may have an official complaint form for you to fill out, or you will use a sheet of blank paper. Check with the court clerk for the proper procedure in your county.
3). Serve the defendant with the complaint. Hire a process server or have a local law-enforcement officer, usually a sheriff, serve the defendant. You are not allowed to personally serve the defendant. Your lawsuit is now officially filed.
