- 1). Plant Mexican daisies in a sunny spot with sandy or loamy soil that drains well. Plant from seed or starts in spring. To plant from seed, simply scatter a handful of seeds over the garden bed and push 1/4 inch of soil over them.
- 2). To plant starts, dig a hole slightly larger than the dimensions of the nursery pot. Slip the root mass out of the nursery pot and place it in the hole. Adjust the level in the bottom of the hole until the Mexican daisy plants are resting at the same depth in the soil as they were in the nursery pot.
- 3). Push the soil you removed from the hole back around the roots and pat it down. Water the area around the new transplants within four to six hours of planting. Keep the soil damp for the first one to two months if the spring weather is dry.
