DiMera Mansion
Nicole tries to assure E.J. that he’s doing the right thing by dropping the custody suit, and now they can put it all behind them and concentrate on being a family again. He says he’ll never put what Sami did behind him. “Are you changing your mind?” she asks. E.J. states that he’s just working on the best way to proceed. Nicole worries that there’s not a lot of time, since the hearing is tomorrow and Steph may testify against him.
E.J. moves a chess piece and states his intention to plan his next move.
Nicole later tells E.J. that she and Sydney are going to leave him alone since he has a lot to think about. She refers to him as a great father, knowing he does everything for his kids. E.J. rehashes how Sami lied to him about his child. He implores Nicole to think about how much she loves Sydney and how she would react if someone lied to her about their baby. He vows that someone’s going to pay. Nicole is about to tell him something, but changes her mind and suggests getting Sydney to the park while the sun is still out. E.J. thanks her for being on his side. She heads out into the foyer and is about to make a phone call.
Sami’s Place
Rafe comes over and wonders what she’s thinking about. “You. I want you to move in with me,” she proposes. Rafe is a bit overwhelmed by her suggestion. He’s not sure they should be making this decision after what she’s been through. Sami admits to knowing that she does impulsive things, but assures Rafe that he’s not a crutch or a replacement.
“I love you, and I want us to be together,” she professes. Rafe asks about the custody case, and Sami confirms that she talked to Mickey Horton about it. Sami reminds him that they both had a loss, realizing that life is too short and they shouldn’t waste a moment, especially being with someone you love. She expresses how she wants them to be together and keep on living together.
Rafe admits that moving on from his past has been one of the hardest things he’s ever had to do, but assures Sami that he loves her. She just wants to go to sleep knowing he’ll be there in the morning, then jokes how she wants to watch him freak out at the sports page every day. “You are what’s best for me,” she smiles. Rafe agrees to move in, as long as she agrees that he won’t talk to her until after his third cup of coffee. She believes they’ll be happy there and hugs him.
Rafe is later unpacking and answers the door to E.J., who needs to talk to Samantha. E.J. wonders if Rafe is moving in. Rafe confirms that he is, which doesn’t exactly thrill E.J. He states that Sami’s not there and tells E.J. to talk to her lawyer. E.J. questions where Sami is. “I’ll have her lawyer call ya. Now get the hell out,” responds Rafe. E.J. implies how he’s looking at the man who kept his daughter from him until he was dead. He begins to threaten Rafe, who dares E.J. to call someone to do his dirty work for him. E.J. decides against physically attacking Rafe, who isn’t the least bit intimated.
After E.J. leaves, Rafe unpacks his things and finds a ring, which was for Emily. He soon comes across an old newspaper clipping entitled “Bride-To-Be Dies Mysteriously.”

Melanie asks Philip what’s wrong. “Stephanie broke off the engagement,” he reveals. Melanie believes Stephanie will un-break it, as she always does. She tries to assure Philip that Steph loves him. She advises him not to be pushy, but don’t make Steph think he’s given up.

Kate notes that Lucas seems too calm. Lucas wonders why shouldn’t he be, since Chloe seems fine and just wants to check out the test results. Kate questions why the test results would be any different than the previous ones, since nothing was detected in the other tests. They spar back and forth about the show before Lucas leaves the room and Kate poisons more food.
University Hospital
Daniel enters Chloe’s room and she can’t help but stare at him longingly. Lucas arrives and thanks Daniel for doing such a great job, then invites him to come over for dinner sometime at the house. Daniel says it sounds great, but he’s doing double rotation all week. After Daniel leaves the room, Lucas notes how abrupt he was.

Kate’s assistant, Chris, proceeds to go ahead and leave before she “sucks all the air out of the room.” He has a plate of food and bumps right into another man, joking how it’s like the beginning of one of his favorite movies. Kate tells Chris to go, and he cautions her to be careful, since the man looks meaner than her.
Afterwards, Kate asks the man if he has it and if it worked. He guarantees that it did, and she hands him an envelope of cash. He hands her a key to Daniel’s apartment.
Kate has her white gloves on and puts the cap back on the vial, then flashes back to collecting Daniel’s fingerprints. She gathers her things and leaves to plant evidence in Daniel’s apartment.

Nathan runs right into Stephanie and she ends up dropping her papers. He jokes about having broken bones or if he should expect a lawsuit in his future. He then asks if she’ll settle for a cup of coffee, then notes that his phone ringing. “Only it’s not my phone. It’s yours, and I’ve made another idiotic mistake,” he realizes. He notes that it’s someone named Philip calling and hands her the phone. Steph hangs up the phone and puts it in her purse. Nathan notes that before the phone call, Stephanie was laughing and smiling, now she’s all serious. Steph tells him it’s none of his business. “If you wanna sue me my name’s Nathan Horton, okay,” jokes an obviously smitten Nathan. “You’re kidding me!” responds Stephanie.
