How to Adjust the String Tension of the Drapes

    • 1). Pull the drape string to see exactly what is going on. If the drapes don't stay in place, the tension needs increasing. If one side is going up while the other is not, the side that is not needs tightening to match the other side.

    • 2). Locate the tension screw at the top of the drapes on the side you need to adjust. The tension screw is a spring-loaded mechanism.

    • 3). Turn the screw one rotation at a time. Clockwise tightens the tension; counterclockwise reduces the tension. You may need to hold the spool of the spring mechanism to prevent it from twisting while you try to adjust the tension.

    • 4). Pull the drapes up and down to check the tension after each rotation to see if was enough. Repeat the adjustment if the drapes are still not even or working improperly.
