- Carcinomatous meningitis can cause an increase in cerebrospinal fluid, which can lead to vomiting and headaches.
- Sometimes the cranial nerves can become affected. If this occurs patients can develop vision problems, numbness and tingling, vertigo and difficulty speaking and eating.
- As this condition progresses the spinal cord is eventually affected. This can lead to numbness and tingling of the arms and legs.
- Other symptoms that can occur with carcinomatous meningitis include loss of balance and urinary problems.
- Carcinomateous meningitis can cause a decrease in mental functioning, confusion, a pressure sensation in the brain and memory loss.
