Immigration to Canada Procedure through Provincial Nomination

The route of Provincial Nomination for Canada Immigration has been largely an elusive option, but recently a couple of schemes launched by different Canadian states have proven to be a flight away from the traditional format of PNPs. In January 2014 the state Saskatchewan launched a skilled migration with a completely revised format.

Usually, the people seeking entry into the Maple country need to prove either of the facts, i.e.
  • You must obtain a permanent regular employment offer from a state based employer. It is necessary for the employer qualify certain basic requirements and also hold a credible position and track record on the scrolls of the authorities
  • You can move your request for immigrating to a state of Canada, if you are in position to establish your connection in the state, i.e. you have a relation or at least a friend to sponsor your application for immigration.

The selection parameters for the applications lodged for Immigration through Provincial Nomination include following parameters
  • Age. The permitted age for the applicants in pitched between 21 years and 49 years or at maximum around 55 years (like the one recently
  • Education. Most of the Canadian states mandate a minimum of graduation for highly skilled occupations and completion of at least secondary education or diploma for basic trades.
  • Work experience. In the recent editions, the authorities of different states have stipulated a minimum of 2 years of relevant trade practice exposure.
  • Adaptability. It includes as above mentioned substantiation of a connection in the state.

The state based skilled immigration schemes or business and investment programs are managed by the authorities of the individual states and the working principles of these stand alone schemes are guided by the state centric requirements of labor, business expertise and investible funds. The most prominent part of assessment process involves gauging the intentions of the applicant regarding settling down in the state, i.e. the states value the intentions of the applicants who show a resolve and interest in settling down in the designated territory of the state offering sponsorship.

To sum up, the older Procedure ofProvincial Nomination for Canada Immigration always posed serious hurdles in way of willing migrants aiming to shift with their skill sets, because having a relation or a friend in a Canadian state is matter of luck and fate. Even in the cases, where the aspirants sought entry into the state on basis of an employment offer, the willing people often found it hard to convince the local employers. This was primarily due to two factors, i.e. the employers did not want to be involved in any kind of legal formalities, and moreover convincing the authorities about the scarcity of requisite expertise is long and expensive process.

The new format of some of the newly planned Provincial Nomination programs have bought in much respite for the employers and the applicants alike, because now for the schemes like ‘Regional Labor Market Demand Stream' the selection parameters have been detached from the former requirements of proving a connection in the state. Although, the number of permitted applications under these schemes is limited by numbers, they do offer a promising future to the aspiring immigrants.

The PNP format of Canadian migration is believed to be the fastest way of immigrating to the Maple country, because the selection process is under the absolute control of the state governments, and once issued a nomination endorsement, the processing times at the CIC counters is considerably reduced to half.  There is every reason to believe that the immigration enthusiasts are going to be offered better migration opportunities in near future.
