Toronto SEO - Search Engine Optimization in Toronto
<h1>Toronto SEO - Search Engine Optimization in Toronto</h1>
Several months ago a friend of mine came to my office and said "hey, Mickey, I bet you won't be able to beat those SEO guys" and showed me a fresh (then) Toronto Star. He knew I am easy prey when it comes to show my SEO (Search engine optimization) talents so I got hooked. The article states that "one of the biggest Toronto SEO companies would pay $10000 to anybody who would be able to beat them and dethrone them from their first place in Google for "Toronto SEO" and "SEO Toronto". Holy crap - ten thousand dollars for SEO work!
Needless to say I was shocked, hooked and entered the contest immediately. First of all I started with the detailed examination of that Toronto SEO company page and found a lot of interetsing information. First of all - they overused "Toronto SEO" related keyords and probably because of the lack of serious competitors got that high number one place. Amount of backlinks was also not that big so I thought to myself "what a hell, I can do that!" I was wrong! As a matter of fact I consider myself as a good SEO specialist, I've worked with several big companies and helped countless small ones with their top seo results so I was pretty sure I am a sort of "demigod of SEO business" and it was a reason of my fail. I checked the amount of competiors for Toronto SEO [http://a5web.com] keyword and discovered that many Search Optimization ccompanies in Toronto were indexed though only a few of them had seriously optimized pages.
More often I was able to see a countless repeats of "Toronto SEO" keywords here in there, in bold SEO Toronto and in <h2>Toronto SEO</h2> tags, overloaded headers with tons of unnecessary information and ancient meta data that current search engines do not use. I created a 10 page website, registered a keyword rich domain name, created an orognal text for all pages, wise headers, good titles representing my Toronto SEO company as one of the best in Canada.
Google indexation took like one month and I got rirst ranks. The ranks were surprisingly low and I started making analysis but found nothing. I added a blog to increase amount of pages and presence in Wordpress database, I added more pages, more original content on Toronto SEO but in vain! I hit top 20 in 2,5 months and was sure that somebody else got that 10k prize though no information was in local press and I tripled my efforts. I registered two more domain names with Toronto and SEO keywords, added several inbodund links, linked all domains according to some certain scheme and hit top ten! It was position number 7 to be certain but I was glad and I was in 6 steps from my 10k reward!
In a month I got top 3 and started thinking how to spend my money when one day I didn't find my website in top! I searched both Toronto SEO and SEO Toronto...I tried even less popular keywords - all in vain!!! My site was gone! It was terrible. During two or three days I was thinking what possible could be wrong and guesss what??? It was my... web hoster! yes, just imagine! They turned off PHP support because of a hacking attack and forgot to turn it on so dynamically generated site returned error page that was accessed by Google and indexed! what a pity!!! This is how I failed to get that prize, though I got a good lesson - Google is not the only thing to blame when it comes to SEO. By the way - I got a job in that SEO company after visiting their Toronto office and telling them this very story! You had to hear that laughter! =) Sincerely yours, Mikele
