How to Put Songs onto a Sony PSP

    • 1). Insert the Memory Stick Duo into the slot on the PSP. The PSP itself has little memory space--the memory stick increases the storage capacity of the PSP to accommodate the songs you will install.

    • 2). Insert the USB cable into a USB port on your computer and the appropriate slot on your PSP. Turn the PSP on and click the “Settings” option. Select “USB Connection” and select the “X.”

    • 3). Open “Computer” on your computer to find the “Removable Disk” drive (because your computer detected the PSP connected by USB). Click this drive to open it and find the “Music” directory within the folders.

    • 4). Locate the MP3 music on your computer and copy each MP3 file you wish to install on the PSP. Simplify the copying process by creating a new folder on your desktop, name it “Music,” right-click each MP3 file, copy it and paste it into the new folder. Drag the entire music folder to the “Music” directory on the PSP or drag the MP3 files there individually.

    • 5). Wait while the MP3 files transfer.

    • 6). Click the “Safely Remove Hardware” icon on your system tray, highlight the PSP and then disconnect the PSP from your computer.

    • 7). Click the “Back” button on your PSP to enable access to the songs on your PSP.
