IRCTC Concession on Reservations – Tailor made Scheme to serve travelers
IRCTC concession on reservations is available for wide range of categories of travelers including disabled passengers, patients, senior citizens, awardees, war widows, students, youth, Kisans, artists and sportspersons, medical professionals, Izzat MST and others (tours, camps and conference etc). Disabled passengers like orthopedically handicapped or paraplegic persons accompanied with travelling for particular purpose, blind person travelling alone or with for particular purpose, mentally retarded persons with an are all eligible to get 75% concession in their Sleeper, 2nd class, AC chair car and 3rd AC ticket. 50% concession is permitted on 2nd AC and 1st AC ticket. Deaf and dumb persons alone or with an travelling for particular purpose are eligible to get 50% concession in Sleeper, 2nd class and 1st class ticket. In both the categories, one is eligible to get the same amount of concession.
Cancer patients travelling alone or with an are eligible to get 75% concession in 2nd class, AC chair car and 1st class. 100% concession is provided in 3rd AC and sleeper class. 50% concession is applicable for 2nd AC and 1st AC ticket. One can get the same concession apart from 3rd AC and sleeper class, where they get 75%. Thalsamia patients, Heart patients and Kidney patients are eligible to get 75% concession in sleeper, 2nd class, 3rd AC and AC chair car. Haemophilia patients can get 75% concession in AC chair car, 3rd AC, 1st class, 2nd class and sleeper. Lupas Valgaris/Tuberculosis, non-infectious leprosy patients can avail 75% concession in 1st class, sleeper and 2nd class. AIDs and Ostomy patients those who are travelling for their check-up or treatment can get 50% concession in 2nd class. Aplastic patients travelling for check-up/treatment towards recognized hospital by Express/Mail trains can get 50% concession in AC chair car, 3rd AC, AC-2tier and sleeper. Sickle Cell Anaemia patients for their treatment can avail 50% concession in their basic fares.
All senior citizens, men (60 years and above) and women (58 years and above) traveling for any particular purpose can get 40% and 50% on all trains. Recipients of Indian Police Award and Presidents Police Medal who are after the age of 60 can avail 50% (in case of men) and 60% (in case of women) in all classes. Shram Awardees can get 75% concession in sleeper and 2nd class. National Awardee teachers can get 50% discount in sleeper and 2nd class. War widows, widows of I.P.K.F Personnel, defence personnel, Martyrs of Operation Vijay can avail 75% concession in sleeper and 2nd class.
Artists travelling for their performance can get 75% concession in sleeper and 2nd class. Film technicians can avail 75% concession in sleeper class. Sports persons and persons taking part in mountaineering expeditions can get 75% discount in sleeper and 2nd class. All allopathic doctors can get 10% in all classes, whereas nurses and midwives who travel during leave and duty can get 25% discount in sleeper and 2nd class. Izzat MST concession is provided to persons who are working in unorganized sectors for monthly earning of not more than INR 1500 can get INR 25 concession for a journey of not more 100 km.
