- All four gasoline engines used SAE 5w30 oil. Depending upon the vehicle's mileage, you may want to consider a high mileage or fully synthetic motor oil to help maintain the quality of your engine seals.
- The factory recommendations for the vehicle include the WIX 51515 oil filter, or another manufacturer's equivalent. Use this filter on all four gasoline variations of the F250. Use 15 to 25 pound-feet of torque when reinstalling the drain plug. If a torque wrench is not available, 20 pound-feet of torque is approximately hand tight plus a three-quarters turn using a standard socket wrench.
- The F250 diesel uses a WIX 51742 Oil Filter or equivalent, with SAE 15w40 synthetic or semi-synthetic oil. The vehicle requires 9.9 quarts of oil with a new filter. Use 28 pound-feet of torque to reinstall the drain plug.
