There are a lot of fun games that can be played with a basketball, basketball hoop and a handful of your friends. One of them is 21 (or Cutthroat), a game that is best played with three to six people. Every player is against all of the other players. Once you've read through these easy to follow rules, grab some friends and enjoy 21. - To start the game, one player shoots a free throw and the other players get in position to rebound. If the player makes the free throw, then he or she gets to shoot another free throw. If he or she makes that free throw, he or she shoots again. He or she can shoot up to three free throws at a time. If he or she makes all three, the player starts at the top of the key and has the chance to score a field goal. The other players can play defense. If he or she misses a free throw, the other players can try to rebound. Whoever rebounds has the chance to score a field goal while the other players defend.
- Whenever a player makes a field goal, that player has the chance to shoot up to three free throws in a row, while the other players get in position to rebound. If he or she misses a free throw, the other players have the chance to rebound and score a field goal. This continues until someone scores 21 points.
- Tipping is a great way to take away your opponent's points.basketball lay in shot image by patrimonio designs from Fotolia.com
For more fun, play with tips. When one player misses a field goal and it bounces off the rim or backboard, another player can rebound the ball in the air and shoot before his or her feet touch the ground. This is called tipping a player. If a player scores off a tip, the player that was tipped returns to 0, and the player who tipped gets 2 points and a chance to shoot three free throws in a row. If he or she misses, another player can try to tip or rebound the ball.
