What Do You Write on Wedding Invitations?
- Though most of your guests probably already know you're getting married, the first information on the card should tell them that they're looking at a wedding invitation and inform them they are invited to the wedding of two people (include the full names of both parties).
- List the date and time for the wedding prominently. This will help each guest figure out quickly whether she can make it to the event.
- Give the location for the ceremony by name of the venue and the city and state it's in.
- Similarly list the location for the reception, if it is at a different location. If not, you may wish to indicate that the party will be at the same place as the ceremony.
- Tell guests whom to contact and give them multiple communication options for their RVSP, including email, mailing address and phone numbers.
- You may also wish to include driving directions for your guests to help them find the location(s). However, you may wish to include this information as a separate piece of paper to be mailed along with the invitation, rather than include it on the same card.
