Wii Compatible Controllers
- The Wii Remote and Wii Nunchuk are included with the Wii Console, but there are other controllers specifically designed for Wii titles. These accessories give players more precise control while simulating actions such as driving or shooting. Icons on the back of Wii game cases indicate if the title is compatible with a particular Wii controller.
- "DJ Hero's" controllers include a turntable and three buttons along with a mixer equipped with a dial, analog stick, buttons and a crossfader. Players are prompted to perform specific actions with each controller to remain in sync with onscreen visual cues. The player can adjust the volume of individual tracks in the mixes of "DJ Hero's" songs and spin the platter to mimic turntable scratches and effects.
- The Les Paul guitar controller is included in the "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" bundle. The Les Paul uses the Wii Remote's rumble feature to shake the controller during Star Power mode and the game broadcasts its audio cues through the remote's speakers. The "Guitar Hero III" bundle also includes additional faceplates for guitar customization.
- The Wii Balance Board has four sensors that translate the movements of the player standing on it into onscreen animation. The Wii Balance Board is sold exclusively with the "Wii Fit Plus" game and its exercise activities.
- The Wii Wheel for driving games has a compartment in its front to cradle the Wii Remote and a hole to slide the strap through. The Wii Wheel is compatible with games such as "Mario Kart" and "Need for Speed: Nitro."
- The Wii Zapper is a gun-shaped controller for first-person shooter games. The Wii Remote fits inside a compartment above the trigger and the Wii Nunchuk fits in the rear handle. The Wii Zapper is bundled with Link's Crossbow Training" and is compatible with titles such as "Dead Space: Extraction" and "Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles."
- A Nintendo GameCube Controller must be used to play GameCube titles on the Wii, but is incompatible with Wii titles. The controller plugs into the Wii's GameCube Controller sockets on the console's side.
- The Classic Controller is for games downloaded from the Wii Shop's Virtual Console. It has a traditional control scheme with a directional pad, two analog sticks and control buttons. Nintendo also has the Classic Controller Pro, which has the Classic Controller's features for selected Wii and WiiWare titles.
