How to Redo the Grout on a Kitchen Sink

    • 1). Insert a grout removal attachment on a Dremel tool. Set the depth of the blade to one-quarter inch.

    • 2). Turn on the Dremel and begin cutting along the grout lines to remove the grout a quarter-inch deep around the kitchen sink.

    • 3). Vacuum out the cracks between the tiles to remove the dust.

    • 4). Add clean water to the grout powder and slowly mixing by hand for two minutes, then rest for three minutes. Mix again until all lumps are missing. The grout should be the consistency of peanut butter.

    • 5). Scoop some grout onto a grout float. Press the float against the sink area at an angle and push grout into the cracks between the tiles. Continue around the sink, pressing grout into the quarter-inch-deep grout lines.

    • 6). Let grout dry for about 20 minutes. Wipe the face of the tiles with a damp sponge to remove excess grout. Buff the tiles with a cloth to remove the last of the grout and any remaining haze.
