"Slither" DVD Review
About.com Rating
The Bottom Line
Based on Slither's total box office take of under $10 million during its theatrical run, it's obvious people didn't know what to make of the film's B-movie vibe. That's just too bad because Slither is actually one of the funniest (and slimiest) movies of 2006. Hopefully now with the release of Slither on DVD, the goofy horror/comedy will find the audience it deserves.

Guide Review - "Slither" DVD Review
Nathan Fillion (Serenity) stars as a small-town sheriff faced with a situation law enforcement officials hope to never have to handle - an invasion of body-snatching aliens.
The story kicks off with Grant Grant (Michael Rooker) returning home from a late night outing a changed man - literally.
While out in the woods making out with a woman who isn't his wife, Grant's attacked by a wormy thing and injected with some sort of substance. Back at his house, wife Starla (Elizabeth Banks) slowly catches on that there might be something screwy about her hubby. Not only is he experiencing physical changes, but his personality has also taken a turn for the worse.
Sheriff Bill Pardy becomes involved in figuring out what's happening to Grant when the man transforms into a bizarre, squid-like, creature. But poor Sheriff Pardy quickly comes to the conclusion he's in over his head as gooey slug critters start popping up all over town.
The DVD Bonus Features
Slither's DVD bonus features are almost as much fun to watch as the film itself. Based on the amount of extras included on the DVD it appears there was as much filming going on behind-the-scenes as there was of the actors working in front of the camera. And for fans of Nathan Fillion, James Gunn, and/or Slither, the commentary track is worth investing the extra hour and a half to listen to. The pair know how to entertain and definitely don't take themselves too seriously.
