    Persistent Wi-Fi

    • Persistent Wi-Fi is another feature offered in the iOS 4.0 software. This allows you to receive and transfer data via Wi-Fi, even when the device is in standby mode with the screen asleep. This is very convenient if you need to download large files or multiple files over a Wi-Fi network and you don't want to run your battery down by keeping your device awake with the screen's backlight on. Before this feature was introduced, the device would simply drop the Wi-Fi connection when the device was switched into standby mode, either by the user or from non-use.

    Wallpapers

    • Wallpapers can now be set to the background of the home screen of Apple devices running iOS 4.0. This feature was first available to users who modified their software through a method known as "jailbreaking," but it's not just for those users anymore. The ability to add wallpaper adds a new level of customization to the user experience.
