How to Specify Formative Models in LISREL
- 1). Open the LISREL folder (in “Program Files”) on your computer.
- 2). Open “Catfirm.exe” if your data contains categorical (noncontinuous) variables. Open “Confirm.exe” if your data contains continuous variables. These are the two programs in the LISREL suite dedicated to formative modeling. By opening either of these, you are specifying formative modeling.
- 3). Click the plus sign ("+") to import your data and create the model.
