How to Add Downloads to Sims 2 Game

    • 1). Locate the download on your computer and determine what type of file it is. Many "Sims 2" downloads will be in ".zip" file format and will require decompression before you can install it. If the file has a ".package" or ".Sims2Pack" file extension, you will not need to unzip it.

    • 2). Right-click on the downloaded ".zip" file and choose to "decompress" or "unzip" it. This will create a decompressed folder containing your downloaded ".package" or ".Sims2Pack" files.

    • 3). Double-click the file if it is a ".Sims2Pack" to automatically install the content. The next time you open your "The Sims 2" game, the content will appear.

    • 4). Right-click the file if it has the ".package" extension, then click "copy" from the mouse menu.

    • 5). Open the Sims 2 "Downloads" folder on your computer. This is the folder that the game uses to detect custom and downloaded content. The "Downloads" folder is usually located in "My Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads."

    • 6). Right-click inside of the folder and choose "Paste" from the mouse menu to place a copy of the ".package" file inside.

    • 7). Repeat the process for all of the ".package" files in the decompressed folder. When you launch your "The Sims 2" game, the downloaded content should be available for use.
