How to Troubleshoot a GE Self-Cleaning Oven JGBP33WEH5WW

    • 1). Push the electrical plug into a working outlet if the entire GE oven is not operating. Check the fuse or circuit breaker and reset or replace as needed.

    • 2). Set the clock if none of the keypads will work and the display is flashing “12:00.” Press “Clock” twice and then the “+” or “-“ keypads until the correct time shows. Push “Start/On” to confirm the time and return the oven control pad to normal function.

    • 3). Do not leave the oven door open while broiling if broiling results are not as desired. Use the top rack and select “Broil Hi/Lo” to choose the broiling temperature, and then close the oven door. Monitor food while broiling to prevent burning or overcooking.

    • 4). Adjust the oven temperature to a higher or lower setting if food is not cooking as expected and monitor food while cooking. Calibrate the oven temperature if the temperature remains inaccurate despite alterations in cooking time and temperature. Touch “Bake” and “Broil Hi/Lo” together for three seconds and then touch “Bake.” Use the “+” key pad to increase the oven temperature in one degree increments or “-“ to decrease the oven temperature in one degree increments until the desired adjustment is made. Press “Start/On” to confirm.

    • 5). Wait for the oven to cool completely from previous cooking functions before selecting “Self Clean” if the self-clean function will not operate. Close the door firmly and move the door latch to the right, then press “Self Clean” and “Start/On.”

    • 6). Touch “Clear/Off” if there is a lot of smoking during the self-clean cycle. Ventilate the kitchen by opening the doors and windows and wait for the “Self Clean” light to go off. Open the oven door and wipe up excess soil in the oven with a cleaning sponge, then close the oven door and restart the self-clean function.

    • 7). Let the oven cool completely and wait for the “Self Clean” light to go out before attempting to open the oven door if the door is locked and a self-clean cycle was recently run. Disconnect power to the oven, wait 30 seconds and restore power if the self-clean cycle was not recently in use and the oven door is locked. Make sure the door latch is moved all the way to the left.

    • 8). Press “Clear/Off” if an error code such as an “F” and a number blinks in the display. Let the oven cool for one hour and then reattempt the cooking function. Disconnect power for five minutes if the error code returns and then connect power and try again.
