Different Braided Hair Styles for Ladies

    Bohemian Box Braids

    • For a bohemian look, incorporate random box braids into flowing straight or wavy tresses. The box braid is a basic technique that uses three equal sections to create an even plait. Part the hair down the center of the head, and grab 3-inch sections at the nape of the neck, temple or behind the ear. Create a box braid by crossing the right side over the middle section before placing the left over the middle section. Continue alternating the hair until the end is reached, and secure the hair with an elastic band.

    Heidi Braid

    • The Heidi hairstyle features two braids that wrap around the head. Start by parting the hair down the middle of the head. Next, gather the two sections at the top of the ear and braid them tightly, using a technique similar to the basic box braid. Wrap one braid across the top of the head to meet the top of other braid and pin it in place with bobby pins. Repeat this process by crossing the second braid so that it lies parallel to the first. The braids should be about 3 inches away from the front hairline to create this angelic hairstyle.

    French Braids

    • The French braid is a continuous braid that travels from one end of the scalp to the other. It can be tight and sculpted or loose and romantic. Brush the hair away from the face and section it horizontally at the top of the crown. Divide this crown section into three equal parts and cross the right section over the middle, before crossing over the left section. Next, grab a 1-inch section from the right side of the head and integrate it into the right section, before crossing it over the middle. Repeat this process with the left side. Continue integrating the excess hair until the end of the braid is reached. Finish the braid with an elastic band.

    Fish Tail

    • The “fish tail” braid is ponytail braid that can be worn high, low or swept to one side, and features an elaborate plaiting technique. Pull the hair back into a ponytail and secure it with an elastic band. Section the ponytail into two equal parts. Take a 1-inch section from the outer edge of the right half and cross it over to join the left. Repeat by taking a 1-inch section from the left section and crossing it over to the right. Continue by alternating right and left until the end of the hair is reached.
