How to Make a Sazerac Cocktail
- 1). Fill a heavy-bottomed bar glass with cracked ice. Let chill.
- 2). Place a lump of sugar in another glass.
- 3). Moisten the sugar with a few drops of water and crush it with a spoon.
- 4). Add several lumps of ice, bitters and whiskey.
- 5). Stir until chilled.
- 6). Discard the ice in the first glass, and dash in absinthe substitute.
- 7). Twirl the glass until it is coated with the liquor. Shake out excess.
- 8). Strain the whiskey mixture into the glass.
- 9). Twist a lemon peel over the drink without dropping the peel into the glass.
