How to Decorate a Leopard Room
- 1). Paint the walls a color that corresponds with the animal print. For example, choose one of the colors from the leopard print, such as beige, very pale yellow or a medium brown. Paint all of the walls one color or choose two of these colors and paint one color on a focal wall and use the other color on the remaining walls. Alternatively, choose a vibrant color, such as red or green, for an accent wall.
- 2). Furnish the space with simple pieces that have clean lines and basic colors to avoid competing with the leopard print and making the room too busy. Dark wood or black lacquer pieces are ideal choices for this pattern. For example, a glass-topped coffee table with black lacquered legs or a dark wood bed frame work nicely with this powerful print.
- 3). Cover the floor with a leopard print rug. Place an area rug to cover the majority of the surface with the print or use a throw rug at the side of a bed or underneath a coffee table for a more subtle effect.
- 4). Use a combination of leopard print and solid-colored linens. Cover a bed with a leopard print comforter and drape a solid-colored throw blanket across the end of it. Arrange leopard print throw pillows along the back of a sofa and hang solid-colored curtains on the windows. In a bathroom, hang a leopard print shower curtain and display solid-colored towels.
- 5). Incorporate accessories in the space. Hang a picture of a leopard on a focal wall. Set banana leaf or bamboo plants in copper or brushed metal urns and place them on the floor. Set candles in brushed nickle or wrought-iron candle holders and place them on tables. Choose other accessories in your bright accent color, such as red or green.
