Many people enjoy scrapbook projects that allow them to record memories of good times and holiday seasons. Thanksgiving is an important American holiday, and it can be fun to commemorate it with these types of memorabilia books. Rather than making a scrapbook that only features plain pages and photographs, create unique Thanksgiving-themed pages, or cards, this holiday season. - Most people spend lots of time planning and preparing for Thanksgiving each year. Document this preparation time creatively in your scrapbook by choosing appropriate materials. For example, use a grocery store sales ad as the background for your planning page. Paste your actual grocery list and your grocery sales receipts on this page. Take photos of you and your family shopping at the store, as well as actually cooking and baking the meal.
- Create several pages to document the actual Thanksgiving meal. Each page can feature an individual aspect of the day. Start by making a page that shows everyone who attended the meal. Use pressed leaves from your yard as the background for this page, and paste photos of everyone around the table together. Don't forget to take photos of your home's Thanksgiving decorations, such as a cornucopia on the table, yellow and orange chrysanthemums on the front porch and any other holiday-themed touches. Dedicate an entire page to the main event--the meal. Make paper turkeys out of construction paper to create this page's background. Paste your menu, family recipes and actual photos of the traditional holiday entrees. The pumpkin pie deserves its own scrapbook page. Create construction paper pumpkins on this page, and then paste photos of the pie-making festivities and the finished result.
- Many Americans watch football and parades on Thanksgiving Day. Document these types of traditions on an activities page. Create page backgrounds out of the daily newspaper pages, such as the front sports page. Create and paste small cards that have the teams' logos and final score. Glue photos of your loved ones watching the events, as well as other specific traditions such as raking leaves together.
- Thanksgiving is an opportunity to reflect upon what you are thankful for. Create a page for this as well. Cut out and paste photos of things you are thankful for, including your family pet, blue skies, educational opportunities, family and community. Journal on this topic and add your thoughts and blessings to this page. The background may be created from Thanksgiving-themed stamps or stickers, or it may be made from simple brown paper.
