Mount Washington

• At 6,288-feet, Mount Washington is the tallest mountain in New Hampshire. The Granite State's highest peak is in the heart of the White Mountains. Mount Washington State Park occupies 59 acres of the mountain and is at Mount Washington's summit. This state park is home to the Tip Top House, a former hotel made from stone.
  
  

Ball Crag

• The second-highest peak in New Hampshire is Ball Crag, a 6,106-foot tall mountain pillar. This mountain is in the White Mountains and within eyesight of the state's tallest mountain, Mount Washington. As of May 2011, Ball Crag does not have any hiking or bicycling trails developed by New Hampshire's Division of Parks and Recreation.
  
  

Mount Adams

• Mount Adams is the third-highest summit in New Hampshire, but the second-tallest mountain at 5,774 feet. This mountain provides views of Ball Crag and Mount Washington from its slopes and summit. The summit of Mount Adams is accessible via Lowe's Path and the Air Line. The oldest of the two trails, Lowe's Path, was developed in the 1870s. Mount Adams also overlooks the King Ravine.
  
  

Mount Jefferson

• Mount Jefferson is the third-tallest mountain in New Hampshire and the fourth-tallest peak at 5,716 feet. This mountain is directly across from Mount Adams and Mount Washington. This mountain has two ridges with trails leading to the summit, the Ridge of the Caps -- home of the Caps Ridge Trail -- and Castle Ridge; the Caps Ridge Trail is a five-mile round-trip.
  
  

Nelson Crag Pillar

• The fifth-highest peak in New Hampshire -- and the state's second-highest mountain pillar -- is the Nelson Crag Pillar. Located in the White Mountains, Nelson Crag Pillar reaches up to 5,604 feet above sea level. Similar to Ball Crag, this peak does not have any official trails sanctioned by New Hampshire's Division of Parks and Recreation.
