Never print a paper boarding pass again with mobile boarding passes.

Travelers and smartphones go hand in hand. Tasks that can be handled include tracking and rebooking flights, searching airport maps, finding food/beverage and retail outlets and checking to flights. And now airlines are allowing travelers to download their boarding passes directly onto their phones for scanning.

The process is pretty simple. Electronic boarding passes can be down landed to any web-enabled smartphone via online check-in on an airline's website after downloading an app. During check-in, travelers have the option to send the boarding pass to their smartphone via email. Once the email arrives, travelers can download the pass, which looks like a square bar code, and have it scanned at the airport security check-in point and at the gate. Below is a list of airlines with the ability to send mobile boarding passes.

Check in on aa.com (or aa.com Mobile). Choose "Email with Mobile Option" and select the appropriate email box for your mobile device.
