How to Keep Your Hair Shiny and Silky All Day

    • 1). Head directly to your nearest salon and get all the dead ends and damaged hair chopped off. Damage and split ends cause dryness, which leave the hair dull. Getting regular trims and cuts will keep hair healthy and in good condition.

    • 2). Skip the blow dryer. Allow your hair to air-dry as much as possible. When using a blow dryer, use a concentrated nozzle and a flat paddle brush to smooth out the hair. Spray a heat protector spray on before using a blow dryer or flat iron to keep damage to a minimal.

    • 3). Squeeze a few drops of shine serum or frizz cream into your palms and rub them together. Palm your hair starting at the ends, working your way up. Don't use on the roots, it will make them greasy and weighed down, leaving the hair limp. Use the products before air-drying and after flat ironing.

    • 4). Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner that contains keratin and vitamins every two to three days. Washing your hair too much can strip it of it's natural oils and shine and leave it coarse. Use a deep conditioner or hot oil treatment once a week to keep the moisture level high. For curly hair, don't rinse the conditioner completely out when you're in the shower, leave in just a touch. Apply a gel to towel-dried hair and twist your curls around your fingers. Allow the hair to air-dry to give your curls shine and bounce. Use a clarifying shampoo once a week to once every two weeks to remove any product and dirt buildup which can cause dull and lifeless hair.

    • 5). Mix up two eggs and 4 tbsp. of olive oil in a small bowl and apply to dry hair. Put on a clear plastic cap and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash it out with a gentle shampoo and air-dry the hair. This will leave the hair silky and smooth.

    • 6). Squirt a few drops of aloe vera into your palm and mix with your usual amount of shampoo. Wash hair as you normally would and rinse it out. The aloe vera will give hair a big shine boost.
