Wedding Day Pointers
The big day is nearly hear! You've done all your planning, got the dress, hired the wedding barn and had plenty of breakdowns along the way about how much work you had to do in how little time.
But now you've finally done it and hopefully it's all feeling worthwhile.
The wedding planning is half the battle, and you've done it, but it's not quite time to sit back and relax yet.
1) Double check everything The night before, phone the wedding barn and make sure they're setting up everything you thought they were setting up, check that the taxis are booked and make sure your bridesmaids know when to meet you if they're not staying over (although having them all in the same place for the morning's preparations is often the best plan).
2) Get a good night's sleep This is quite often harder than it sounds, because many couples are a bag of nerves before they get round to tying the knot.
You're going to be in a lot of photos, so if you can't sleep away the bags under your eyes, make sure you have a good concealer and plenty of coffee to keep you awake.
Your wedding day is likely to be quite a long one after all.
That means no hen or stag dos the night before, and no late night gossiping with your bridesmaids, sensible bedtime, and give yourself as much time as possible to get ready in the morning.
3) Have a good breakfast This might sound daft but the nerves can get to you and you might just forget to eat.
It could be a very long time before you get a change to grab another meal though, and with plenty of guests that you won't have seen for years around, even when nibbles are being served you might struggle.
You're also likely to be having more than a few drinks throughout the day, and it's best to line your stomach before you get started.
4) Plan everything If you're having a hair and makeup artist over to style you before you get to the wedding barn, make sure you've timed how long this will take.
You will want some photographs taken at home, and you'll need a contingency plan, just in case.
Remember that if you wear a t-shirt whilst having your hair done that you will then have to pull this over your head.
Instead wear something with buttons that you can slip out of easily so you don't mess up your tresses.
5) Smile! There will be loads of photographs taken of you in the wedding barn, at the ceremony and throughout the day, not all of which you're going to know about.
Keep the smile on permanently even if you're feeling a bit nervy, or you'll regret it when you see the photos.
