Winners Versus Losers: 4 Key Differences

Far more people would prefer being considered as a winner, than perceived as a loser! How often have you heard or read something about the essentials of winning, but found a lack of the proverbial nuts and bolts, of truly winning? It is important to understand that this often means far different things to various individuals, often based on either one's perspectives, needs, desires, goals, priorities, or precisely what they hope to achieve or accomplish.
In my over three decades of involvement in all aspects of event and leadership planning, as well as personal development and self - help, I've often emphasized how important it is for each of us to feel and/ or believe that we have won, or are, at least, on the right path to achieving whatever we hold most near and dear.
Here are 4 Key Differences.
1.
Part of the Solution versus Part of the Problem: Great leaders always step forward while many others are hiding their heads in the sand, or running away from the obstacles and challenges.
One of the essential keys to performing to one's potential is to always be solution finders, always avoiding the easier path of over - using empty rhetoric, blame or excuses, or the it's not my job mentality.
Winners always perceive and conceive of alternatives and ways to overcome obstacles and transform obstacles to opportunities, while losers focus on problems.
If you want to be a winner, remove the word, problem, from your vocabulary! 2.
Perceives a way to get it done versus doom and gloom: Nothing positive ever comes from letting worry control and dominate your mindset and/ or actions.
Be realistic and avoid merely having rose - colored glasses, but do so in a positive, achievable, well - planned manner.
3.
Proactive versus passive/ afraid: While having some fears is normal and natural, the important component is how you handle or respond to your fear.
Do you muster up the highest quality and degree of your inner strength, or do you let whatever you are afraid of, restrict and dominate you? Great leaders must continuously be proactive and positive.
4.
Empathetic versus selfish/ narcissistic: True winners are quality, effective listeners who get others involved and truly care.
They make the effort and take the time to see things through the eyes of those they serve! Those who make leading about them personally, or are self - absorbed/ involved and narcissists, rarely win in any meaningful way! Do you want to be a winner or a loser? It's almost always up to you!
