"SimCity 2000" was the first title in a series that blends a city-building simulator with a completely futuristic world. Created by Maxis as a product of Will Wright's extraordinary imagination, "SimCity 2000" is available for a variety of gaming platforms, including the original Sony PlayStation, Super Nintendo and the PC. - In "SimCity 2000," you need a lot of money to expand your city, but waiting for the funds to rack up through normal gameplay can be time-consuming. If you want to start on the fast track to success, press and hold the "toolbar" while typing "torg" on your keyboard to instantly earn an annual salary of $1 million a year.
You can type in other codes during gameplay in the Microsoft Windows version of "SimCity 2000." Type "fund" to receive a $10,000 bond with 25 percent interest. Type "imacheat" to unlock every reward in "SimCity 2000;" this also adds $500,000 to your bank account.
One of the most innovative aspects of any "SimCity" game is the ability to destroy your city using a number of disasters and other acts of God. Type "mrsoleary" to start a small fire, "noah" to start a flood, "moses" to stop a flood once it has started or "gomorrah" to start a nuclear disaster. - If you are low on funds in the PlayStation version of "SimCity 2000," instantly add $1 million to your bank account by entering the Budget menu and, while holding "R1," pressing "X," "Circle," "Triangle" and "Square;" then hold "L1" and press "X," "Circle," "Triangle" and "Square;" then hold "R2" and press "X," "Circle," "Triangle" and "Square;" then hold "L2" and press "X," "Square," "Triangle and "Circle."
- In the Super Nintendo version of "SimCity 2000," you can start the game with $1 million in your bank account by selecting "Land of Freedom" and the start of the game and entering your name, then enter your city's name as "New York." When the game loads, you'll see $1 million in your account.
