Drama, Overacting, Back Biting Find a Home on Colors TV: Bigg Boss

Television today has progressed beyond anyone's imagination. Today there are so many channels that you always have to forego one serial or show in place of watching another favourite show. There are many channels that showcase family oriented programmes such as Zee TV, Life OK, Sony Entertainment, Colors TV and more. Each channel has its own format yet most genres of programming are quite similar.

A channel that is quite popular with the masses is Colors TV. This channel has set a precedent with showing dramas that are socially relevant to the society today. This channel airs movies too during the week and the weekend. Not just this Comedy shows, reality shows, thrillers and family dramas all find a place in this channel that is seen by a very diverse population. Owned by Viacom18 this channel has grown a lot in the last five years since it was launched in the year 2008.

Another very popular show on Colors TV is Bigg Boss. It is a reality show on television that ropes in celebs and other people to play a game where they have to live with each other for 100 days away from the public eye with no connection to outside world. This show is an Indian version of the show Big Brother that finds viewers in both USA and UK. For the last few seasons Bigg Boss has been aired on Colors TV.

This season too Bigg Boss 7 finds itself back on the channel. A show that is widely watched and very popular with the audiences. Every season the format of the show is changed to keep the viewers interested though the basic format remains the same. 20 participants start of the show together and play with or against one another till a clear winner emerges. This show is home to melodrama, revenge, fights, overacting, attitude and of course relationships formed or broken with people one may have heard of but never interacted with before signing up to do the show.

The format of the show forces people to stay with each other 24/7, with different tasks or games being played inside the house for entertainment. At the end of 100 days there is only one winner selected by the audiences and their votes. The ever smiling and handsome hunk Salman Khan is also one of the reasons Bigg Boss 7 is so popular with the viewers. Many viewers follow the show only to watch the weekend episodes with Salman hosting. His theatrics, conversation with the participants inside the house and joviality is there for all to see. If this was not enough eye candy then viewers get a taste of celeb guests who have graced the show while promoting their new releases.
