How to Get Halo Wars Achievements
- 1). Complete the entire single-player campaign on different difficulty levels. Finishing the campaign in Heroic mode earns the Adjudicate the Arbiter achievement and 30 points while the Detour the Great Journey achievement denotes a finish in Legendary mode and brings 50 points.
- 2). Play with a friend in co-op mode. You will get the 10-point Backscratcher achievement by completing your first co-op campaign mission. Completing the entire co-op campaign will bring the OMG BFF FTW achievement and 40 points.
- 3). Compete on Xbox Live. Each higher rank you obtain earns an achievement and a growing number of points. The Basically Naive achievement, given when you obtain Recruit rank, for example, earns 10 points while promotion to Lieutenant gives you the Officer on Deck achievement and 30 points. Reaching General will earn you 50 points and the Running the Show achievement.
- 4). Collect skulls as you go. You will win the 5-point Alas, Poor Andrew Thomas achievement for the first skull you find. Collecting all of them will earn you the Graverobber achievement and 30 points.
- 5). Check the mission objectives. Each mission specifies something that must be done to earn its 5-point achievement. In mission 2, for example, you must destroy every methane tank to earn the Endless Fun achievement, while in mission 7 you win the Micro Manager achievement by not destroying any of the Power Nodes. Getting a gold medal on any mission will also earn you 5 points and the Momma's Boy achievement.
- 6). Finish the entire game. Doing so earns the Ready for the Sequel achievement and its 75 points, the most awarded for any Halo Wars achievement. By the time you finish you should be well on your way to earning two other longevity-based achievements: the Epic Grinder achievement (40 points), awarded when you reach a lifetime campaign score of 1 million points, and the 24 Hours of Quality achievement (20 points), awarded for playing the game for a total of 24 hours.
